A skeptical forensic economist might wonder if it is justified to invest time to learn the dense notation needed to read Skoog & Ciecka (2012). Only mathematicians are interested in theorems that have no practical application. Why learn about an autoregressive Markov process of order two to do a job that is already done by a first order Markov process and for which there are no data?
