Forensic economists read and write about how economic damages are calculated, relying tacitly on the economics and statistical analysis that underpins damages calculations, or so says the author of the work under review. The author continues that, on the other hand, law and economics scholars are concerned with the connection between substantive law and economic analysis, and much less so with calculating damages for a given case. Somewhere in between rests the author’s purpose in writing a book like none other before it. The author’s confession occurs in the book’s Afterword, but glimpses of the intention appear early in the work as well.
