This paper is an update to similarly title paper that provided descriptions of legal decisions relevant to admissibility of economic testimony on hedonic damages that were reached between January 1, 2000 and October 21, 2012 (Ireland 2012).1 This paper provides descriptions of 28 legal decisions relevant to economic testimony regarding hedonic damages between January 1, 2013 and February 28, 2017. (There were no decisions of major consequence concerning this issue between October 21, 2012 and December 31, 2012.) Only decisions that bear on the meaning and relevance of economic testimony about awards for ‘‘hedonic damages’’ have been included. As used in this paper, the term ‘‘hedonic damages’’ applies to testimony by an economic expert in a court of law about ‘‘enjoyment of life,’’ ‘‘value of life,’’ ‘‘value of the ability to carry on a normal life,’’ ‘‘love and affection,’’ or ‘‘society and relationship.’’
